Ex-DGP Sambasiva Rao likely to join YSRCP

Visakhapatnam:Former DGP N Sambasiva Rao is likely to join the YSRCP in the coming days.The former DGP met YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Dharabhogapuramunder Rambillimandal in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday during his PrajaSankalpa Yatra, which entered 245 days. 

After emerging out from meeting, the former DGP refused to talk to newsmen stating that it was a casual visit. But YSRC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijaysai Reddy confirmed that Sambasiva Rao would be joining YSRCP. “His joining will give the party enormous strength,’’ Vijaysai Reddy said. “It is a good development. We shall take valuable services and inputs from him,”VijaysaiReddy added.

Now Sambasiva Rao is a CEO of Gangavaram Port in Vizag. Recently, another retired police officer from Vizag region, a former Additional SP, Y Prembabu joined the YSRCP during Jagan’s yatra in the district. Sources said that some IAS and IPS officers, who were cherry-picked by TDP supremo during his tenures in the past and present, have turned hostile to him after their retirement. Former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao, who was given the posting of chairman of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation after his retirement, has been opposing Naidu and another retired IAS officer AjeyaKallam, who also served as chief secretary and has become a bitter critic of Naidu.

A few months back retired IPS officer SM Iqbal joined the YSRCP and expressed that people who do not want a capital like Singapore were disappointed because there was nobody in the government who is bothered about their problems. MeanwhileJagan started his yatra from Kothapalem village on the outskirts of Yelamanchili and entered Rambilimandal by the end of day covering Narayanapuram, Mamidiwada, Gokiwada, Panchdarla, Apparayudupalem and Dharabhogapuram.

During his padayatra, a retired head master SV Narasingha Rao said that he underwent a surgery for cancer in 2012 and claimed for medical bill under the TDP regime but in vain. Again in 2014, he had met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and lamented about his situation but the medical bill amount Rs 98,000 was not yet sanctioned till date. He wanted to know how can the TDP government had sanctioned Rs 2.88 lakh for root canal treatment of finance ministerYanamalaRamakrishnudu. 

Some Vizag Steel Plant employees, whotook part in padayatra, urged Jagan to concentrate on allocating captive mines for steel plant development.They also appealed to Jagan to cover the steel plant surrounding areas in his yatra. Jagan assured the employees that he will visit the steel plant surroundings also.
