Take note of crop damage in fields: Tenant farmers
Eluru: AP Kowlu Rythula Sangham demanded that the State government register names of the tenant farmers who lost their crop due to rains and floods in the fields itself.
The sangham general secretary, Jamalaiah told reporters here on Sunday that the sangham had visited crop damage fields and assessed the loss.
About 80 per cent of crop damaged lands were under cultivation of tenant farmers.
However, the officials have been asking for Photostat copies of pattadar passbooks, tenant farmer identity cards, Aadhaar cards and bank account from the tenant farmers.
As many farmers had no identity cards, the government should ensure that officials visit fields and make note of the loss caused to the tenant farmers because of floods.
The officials were not giving clarity on the fate of tenant farmers who had no identity, he added.
