Arrangements for Dasara festival reviewed at Durga Temple in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (SDMSVD) Executive Officer (EO) V Koteswaramma met Krishna District Collector B Lakshmikantham along with the temple officials and Archakas on Tuesday, to discuss about the arrangements of Dasara Navaratri festivities at Durga Temple and make the event a grand success.

The offerings in cash and through Hundi to Goddess Kanakadurga were counted in the presence of temple Koteswaramma, Chairman Y Gauranga Babu and some devotees.  

The collections during the last 26 days in the 19 Hundis stood at Rs 2.6 crore, 764 grams of gold and 4,635 grams of silver ornaments. 

Koteswaramma conducted an advance review meeting with the SDMSVD administrative officials and Archakas to make grand success the Dasara Navaratri festivities in Durga Temple. 

She also reviewed festival budget, fund payments to other departments, timings of the temple, security arrangements, Closed Circuit (CC) TVs, police Bandobast, private security arrangements, queue lines, waterpoof sheds, free medical services, accommodation for deputation staff, engineering, establishments, festival section, accounts and availability of Darshana tickets, provision stores, prasadam preparation, annadanam, water section, electricity, sanitation, cultural programmes, mike broadcasting, other temples deputation staff, free transport for senior citizens and physically handicapped , Alankarams, free bus facility in Dasara, Dasara Arch at roads, publicity & advertisement of Dasara, subject of donors, VIP’s visits, flower decoration inside the temple, Illumination, Free Medical camps, Press gallery, Veda sabha, Archaka sabha, ID cards, Vehicle parking, Free Toilets, Arrangements of Swimmers, Parking,  Hamsa vahanam, Teppotsavam and other issues with the SDMSVD officials and Archakas.

EO said that 100 grams of milk has been offered to the children at Annadana Kendram in the temple and Kumkuma Prasadam would be given to devotees during the Dasara Navaratri Festivals (DNF).  

Kadambam rice prasadam would be offered to the devotees of Goddess Kanakadurga in the queue lines during the DNF and an auspicious day like Moola Nakshatra.
