Kantor Public conducting survey in grama panchayats
Srikakulam: With an aim to encourage competitive spirit between grama panchayats, the Central government is conducting a survey in the selected grama panchayats across the country.
In the name of Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen-2018 (SSG), the Cetnre has assigned the job to a Delhi-based voluntary organisation ‘Kantor Public’. In all, 696 grama panchayats have been selected for survey under SSG-2018 and in Srikakulam 16 villages were included in the list.
SSG-2018 survey was launched on August 1 and continued till August 31 and awards will be presented on October 2 at village, district and state-level.
The survey team is collecting details on sanitation by direct observation and through feedback. A mobile app was launched in the name of SSG-2018 one can send their feedback through smart phones.
The survey is being conducted in schools, Anganwadi centre, local hospitals, village markets, religious places, drainage, roads, water stagnated points, garbage dumping places and garbage management and usage of individual house hold toilets.
The survey team was testing the awareness of people over Swachh Bharat concept and its importance. The ‘Kantor Public’ survey teams inspected 16 grama panchayats across Srikakulam district recently.
“We created awareness among people in rural areas and they are also responding positively towards sanitation and Swachh Bharat and hope for good marks in survey and national level award for Srikakulam”, superintending engineer for Rural Water Supply (RWS) P Srinivasa Rao and chief executive officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad B Nagesh told The Hans India.
