Buddhist monk visits CCVA in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Mahathera Khemachara Bhikkhu, Secretary, International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), vice-president of World Alliance of Buddhists, Dhamma Deepa Foundation, Tripura and chairman of Siddhartha Buddha Vihara Trust visited the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Monday.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO of the cultural centre said that the senior Buddhist monk, as part of his Dhamma tour during the rainy retreat (Vassavasa) visited a special Buddhist exhibition at the CCVA. Dr Reddy presented a book on Buddhist Heritage of Andhra Pradesh written by him.

M Chimpiraiah of Malaxmi Group, Upasaka Subhakar Medasani, secretary, Amaravati Buddha Vihara, Dr Ravi Chandra Reddy Bhimavarapu, MD, Vipassi Tours and Travels participated in the programme. Subhakar Medasani presented a memento of Buddha portrait to the Buddhist Monk and sought his blessings.
