Jagan alleges corruption in Polavaram works

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party president and Opposition Leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Cabinet ministers were looting the funds of Polavaram Project by giving the contract works to a close relative of Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

Jagan predicted that the Polavaram Project construction would not be completed during the TDP rule as there has been an inordinate delay in works due to rampant corruption prevailing in the State. On the 252nd day of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jaganmohan Reddy addressed a massive public meeting at K Kotapadu mandal headquarters in Madugula Assembly constituency on Monday.

After coming into the power, the YSRCP government would give top priority to complete the Polavaram Project and would supply the Godavari waters to the Visakhapatnam district, he said. While talking about the cooperative sugar factories in the district, Jagan said that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, all the factories recovered from the financial crisis and registered good profits.

However, after coming to power, Chandrababu Naidu, with vested interests, pushed the cooperative factories into losses. Over 25,000 workers and farmers are depending on the Chodavaram sugar factory, but the State government has not been initiating any measures for the survival of the factory in the cooperative sector, he pointed out. Jagan started his padayatra on Monday at Mulakapalle and continued via Kothapeta, A Bhimavaram, Padugupalem and A Koduru.

Celebrates Krishnashtami:
Y S Jagan greeted the people on the occasion of Janmashtami. He hoped that Lord Krishna's blessings would bring success to the State. During the day-long padayatra, Jagan participated in the Srikrishnashtami celebrations and also participated in the ‘Utti’ rituals. People evinced interest at different places to take selfies with the YSRCP chief.
