MLA Pydikondala Manikyala Rao says he will raise sanitation issue in monsoon Assembly session
Tadepalligudem: Former minister and MLA Pydikondala Manikyala Rao has said he will discuss the deteriorating sanitation problem in the ongoing monsoon Assembly session.
The MLA participated in Swachh Bharat programme at Health Centre in Walkers Colony here on Sunday.
He turned furious about the sad state of sanitation on the premises of the hospital. He observed that used syringes and garbage was thrown in the hospital area.
Even dry leaves were not cleared making the premises unhygienic. He expressed ire at the hospital administration for not cleaning its surroundings.
As per guidelines, government offices and hospitals need to spend at least two hours on sanitation as part of Swachh Bharat.
As there was no supervision at the hospital, the filthy premises was posing threat to the visitors and people in surrounding areas.
He said that at a time when people were worried about the spreading diseases like dengue, the negligence of administration would prove costly in case of any epidemic.
There was need to take action against officials responsible for the poor sanitation, he added.
Former municipal chairman E Tataji, president and secretary of ex-servicemen association Raju and Haranath, BJP convener N Someswara Rao, town president K Prabhakara Balaji, councilor Kota Rambabu and others accompanied the former minister.
