Blood donation camp to mark 2nd anniversary of Surapaneni Koteswara Rao
Bachupalli: Doctors of Basavarama Taraka Cancer Hospital organised a blood donation camp in Vikas Concept School in Hyderabad, to mark the second anniversary of its founder the late Surapaneni Koteswara Rao on Monday. Among the donors were students, parents, teachers, non-teaching staff and Rao’s family members. School Directors Surapaneni Nanda Kishore, Anil Chowdary distributed clothes, shutters and bed-sheets to 200 members of local orphanage.
Prominent doctor of the hospital Dr Chandasekhar Rao, who was the chief guest, enlightened the gathering about Rao’s contribution during the last 45 years to education in Andhra Pradesh, benefitting thousands of students. Dr Kolli Anil Kumar Chowdary said those who studied under Rao were occupying high posts within and outside the country.
School headmistress Caroline pledged to uphold the aspirations propagated by Rao. School director and widow of Rao Surapaneni Swarajya Lakshmi described his work as worthy of emulation. Rao’s son and school director Nanda Kishore assured the gathering that his ideals would be carried forward. Among those present were Surapaneni Madhavi, Rahul, Charita,Dinesh, Srinivas, Rama Rao,Dr C Raviprasad, P S N Murthy.
