Plastic carry bags will be banned, says Mayor Sunkara Pavani
Kakinada: Mayor Sunkara Pavani reiterated that apart from ban of plastic bags below the specifications fixed, special drive will be taken up for control of pigs and cattle on the streets of Kakinada.
Speaking to media persons at her chambers in corporation office on Monday, the mayor said that they had given top priority for this as part of special sanitation drive in the city.
This was necessitated in view of noticing more number of dengue cases in and around city suburbs.
An action plan would be executed in the next few days soon after return of corporation commissioner from leave, the mayor revealed.
Apart from this, the mayor said that she had been visiting various divisions in corporation limits.
Referring to her three-day trip to Mumbai during last week, the mayor said that apart from 100 smart cities, mayors from several cities attended the meet.
Besides other issues, sanitation and utility of garbage as manure after treatment were discussed prominently, the mayor said.
