1.86 lakh stolen from car

Nellore: Unidentified persons stole Rs 1.86 lakh cash from a parked car after breaking glasses in Atmakur town on Friday. The incident took place near SB Main Branch near Tenkayathopu. According to sources, Venkareddy from Nellore city approached Barracks Branch of SBI for a challan of Rs 7.14 lakh. But, the bank authorities informed to Venkareddy that it takes three to four days.

Immediately, Venkareddy, along with his brother, moved to Atmakur carrying Rs 9 lakh and enquired at Syndicate Bank and they also refused the challan payment. Further, they visited Atmakur SBI Main Branch and got it paid. After paying challan of Rs 7.14 lakh, Venkareddy kept remaining amount of Rs 1.86 lakh in the car and went for lunch in the vicinity.

After having lunch, he found that someone had broken the glasses and stolen the amount from the car. Immediately, he informed to local police on the incident. Atmakur Circle Inspector Sk Altaf Hussain, Sub-Inspector Naresh visited the spot and enquired about the incident. They collected CCTV footage and started investigation after registering a case.
