Jashuva worked for equality in society: Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand
Ongole: Prakasam district Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand, participated in the 123rd birth anniversary celebrations of Gurram Jashuva and said that the great poet worked to eradicate the social differences and bring equality among human beings.
Vinay Chand, after garlanding the statue of Gurram Jashuva in the Collectorate and paying tributes, said that Jashuva created a trend to support Dalits in his contemporary writers and gave voice to the weak and downtrodden in his writings.
He said that the writer was multifaceted and made his work in Sanskrit and Telugu and Firdousi, Gabbilam and Musafir were few of his excellent books that brought him accolades as Navayuga Kavi Chakravarthy and Kavikokila.
Later, the Collector inaugurated the novel, Ma Erraobanna Palle written by Dugginapalli Ezra Sastry while the DRO Venkatasubbaiah, social welfare department DD Lakshmi Sudha, MRPS leader Brahmaiah and others also participated in the programme.
