Vijayawada: The movie of NTR biopic shooting began at Hamasaladeevi in Krishna district on Wednesday. Lead actor Balakrishna joined the crew members and acted in some scenes. Nearly 150 people of Palakatippa and Koduru villages could get a chance to act in the scenes along with Balakrishna. The movie unit set up temporary sheds for shooting purpose.

Balakrishna enacted in the backdrop scenes of Diviseema cyclone. Former Chief Minister and the late NT Rama Rao had visited Diviseema to extend help to Diviseema cyclone victims in 1977. He toured the cyclone-hit villages and later collected donations to help their relief and rehabilitation operations.

The film unit did not allow the media or photographers into shooting area. Deputy Speaker Mandali Budda Prasad and MP Konakalla Narayana were present along with Balakrishna at the shooting spot.

Earlier, Balakrishna visited the Venugopala Swamy temple and offered puja on behalf of his family members, along with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Panchayat Raj minister Nara Lokesh. The people of Palakaitippa and Koduru villages thronged the spot to watch the shooting. But Balakrishna did not interact with people except greeting them with a victory symbol.

The movie unit set up Diviseema tidal wave replica settings at the shooting spot. The movie unit will shoot some more scenes on the same sets in the next three days. Later, the shooting might be shifted to Nimmakuru in Krishna district, the native village of NT Rama Rao, said a crew member.
