Strive to protect forests, officials told

Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh State Forest Academy (APSFA) Director JSN Murthi has said that reaching  goals and to acquire more knowledge about global changes relating to forest methods is a big challenge before the Forest department officials.  

Inaugurating training programme to third batch of section officers and fifth batch of beet officers in APSFA here on Monday, the Director said the training was aimed to enhance professional skills of forest department employees.

Training will be given for one year to forest Section Officers and six months to Forest beet officers. Training will also be given in 17 languages to the trainees. The syllabus is more than IFS for the benefit of the trainees. In addition to this, training in driving vehicles will also be given. Now, forestry became important wing globally and gaining its importance day by day, he said.

APSFA putting its endeavour to make the department employees best in the state. He advised the trainees to work with commitment and dedication to protect forest properties which is the main duty of the department.

The forest department fixed targetfor increasing 50 per cent of green cover by the year 2050.  As many as 56 officials across the state participated in the training programme. Course directors MVP Rao and  MS Rao were present.
