Government supplying essential items to cyclone victims: Minister Prattipati Pulla Rao
Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao said that state government will extend all possible help to the victims of Titli cyclone victims in Srikakulam district. According to preliminary reports, as many as 2.25 lakh families in 11 mandals suffered losses in the district due to Titlicyclone.
Addressing a press meet at Chilakaluripet in Guntur district on Saturday, the Minister said that the government has started distributing six essential commodities to the cyclone victims which include potatoes, onions, 1-kg palmolein oil and half kg sugar.
He said that along with the six commodities, the government is distributing 25-kgs to 50 kgs rice free of cost to the fishermen families and added that government has taken steps to extend helpto the cyclone victims. He condemned Income-Tax raids on the houses of TDP leaders and their sympathisersand alleged that the Central government is trying to create fear psychosis among the people.
