Fire crackers worth 10 lakh seized

Vijayawada: In a joint raid, the City Task Force police and Kankipadu police on Thursday seized fire crackers worth Rs10 lakh from a trader in Kankipadu. The trader illegally stored the crackers against the rules and the directive of the Supreme Court. As per the rule, only licenced traders can store fire crackers.

Under the supervision of Task Force ACP P Muralidhar, the police conducted the raid on the residence of trader Vankadaru Narasimha Rao alias Haribabu in Kolavennu street in Kankipadu village and seized 35 boxes of crackers worth Rs10 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force police conducted the raid.
