Blood donation camp organised at DLSA
Ongole: The District Legal Services Authority organised a blood donation camp in the office premises on Friday.
The district judge and chairperson of the DLSA, MG Priyadarsini participated in the camp as the chief guest. She said that donating blood is nothing but giving life to a person.
She said that every person should make it a habit to donate blood as there are people losing lives due to non-availability of blood on time.
She said that the RIMS Ongole requires 20 to 25 units of blood every day and 80 percent of it is being used for the pregnant women. She asked the youth and court staff to make it a habit to donate blood every 4 months.
The DLSA secretary and senior civil judge T Raja Venkatadri said that the youth should become active in social service programmes.
He appreciated the students from NSS division of PACE College for coming forward to donate blood.
He asked the youth to create awareness on blood donation and see more number of people participate in the camps.
He announced that 48 people have donated blood in the camp organised on Friday.
The PACE college secretary Maddisetty Sridhar said that they are encouraging the students to have social responsibility apart from being busy with class works.
College principal Dr M Srinivasan also donated blood while the college planning director Sukumar Puhan distributed the certificates to the donors.
NSS officer N Prakash Babu, additional judges RJ Viswanatham, S Ramesh, Ch Rajagopla Rao, senior civil judges B Sobhakumari, R Sarath Babu, junior civil judges Pallavi, Kanakalakshmi, Sudha, paralegal volunteer BV Sagar and others also participated in the camp.
