Govt selects Takshasila Academy for Civil Services coaching
- Academy Managing Director Dr BSN Durga Prasad says coaching to Civil Service aspirants will be provided under the NTR Vidyonnathi Scheme
- Says the academy has been a right platform especially for students from both the Telugu-speaking states to get quality coaching
Vijayawada: The city is a well-known hub for education for quite some time. However, the new capital Amaravati city after the state bifurcation brought various new developments to the city including several IAS training academies.
Previously, the students of coastal districts used to go to Hyderabad or Delhi for IAS training. Now, several new institutions started their IAS training academies.
Besides, the State government is promoting the higher education under NTR Vidyonnathi Scheme. As part of it, the State government also selected several private IAS training centers to provide coaching free of cost.
Two corporate education organisations included the IAS coaching also as one of the important subjects in their syllabus following the increasing demand from students.
The percentage of students is also rapidly increasing for IAS coaching. Dozens of IAS academies have started their operations in the two cities of Vijayawada and Guntur during the last four years.
The Takshasila IAS Academy has been selected by the State government to provide coaching to Civil Service aspirants under the NTR Vidyonnathi Scheme, said its Managing director Dr BSN Durga Prasad.
Speaking to The Hans India at the Academy's Benz Circle campus in the city on Saturday, Dr Prasad thanked the government and the officials and vowed to live up to their expectations.
The Takshasila IAS Academy has been the only coaching institute from Andhra Pradesh to receive this rare honour out of 20 national-level coaching institutes, because of its proven track record, Durga Prasad said.
The academy, which was set up in Vijayawada four years ago, had earned seven ranks till now because of its excellent infrastructure and expert faculty, he said.
The academy has been a right platform especially for students from both the Telugu-speaking states to get quality coaching as it is difficult for them to go to faraway places like Delhi and Hyderabad spending considerable time on travelling and huge sums of money on boarding and lodging, the MD said.
Dismissing the myth that intelligent students and those who received coaching in Delhi would be selected for Civil Services, he said the quality coaching and hard work would pave the way for success.
Academy principal, retired IPS official Dr Shyam Prasad Rao and others were present at the press conference.
