Steps taken to create awareness on swine flu, says DMHO
Guntur: The swine flu has so far claimed one person’s life and another two were undergoing treatment at the Government Fever Hospital in Guntur district.
Earlier, a woman hailed from Narasaropet town, admitted to government fever hospital with swine flu, was recovered and discharged from the hospital.
According to in-charge District Medical and Health officer Dr T Ramesh, a JCB driver, who hailed from Kondamudi village of Rajupalem mandal of Guntur district, was suffering from swine flu, died while undergoing treatment.
Swab tests confirmed the patient has been suffering from swine flu. The DMHO officials conducted a survey at his house in Kondamudi and conducted tests to the suspects.
However, there are no suspected swine flu cases recorded in the village.
Another patient who went to Belgaum, was contacted with swine flu. Meanwhile, another two patients suffering from swine flu admitted in the government fever hospital in the city.
The patients went to their relatives’ house in Anantapur for Dasara festival, where they might have contacted swine flu.
A special ward was set up in the government fever hospital for swine flu in Guntur city to treat the patients suffering from swine flu.
Dr T Ramesh said that the swine flu patients, who are undergoing treatment in the government fever hospital, are out of danger and their condition was improving.
