Anantapur: Amidst increasing groupism in the district unit of TDP, efforts are on the cards to send out local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary from the party and to nominate ex-MLA Gurunath Reddy who joined the party recently for Anantapur Assembly constituency in the 2019 Assembly elections.

According to sources in the party, Anantapur MP Diwakar Reddy and also TDP leader from Kadapa C M Ramesh are making behind scene efforts to nominate Gurunath Reddy as the TDP candidate for Anantapur Assembly segment.

Two ministers from district Paritala Sunitha and Kalava Sreenivasa Rao and the district TDP president B K Parthasaradhi are also supporting the idea, party sources say.

Although there exists rivalry between J C brothers and Paritala Sunitha, there have been open disputes between J C Diwakar Reddy and Prabhakar Chowdary.

Relations between Prabhakar Chowdary and Paritala Sunitha are also not cordial. Due to group rivalry in party, MP Diwakar, Paritala group and even the district TDP chief B K Parthasaradhi have been opposing Prabhakar Chowdary.

MP Diwakar Reddy and MLA Prabhakar Chowdary have been locking horns over several development works including the road widening project in old town which involved demolition of  several shops. The proposal was opposed by the MLA. The MP, along with other leaders have been trying to discourage the present MLA, it is learnt.
