One Zero Based Natural Farming farmer for every village stressed

Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna has strongly advocated the need of one farmer adopting ‘Zero Based Natural Farming’ (ZBNF) in each village, so that the importance of that farming activities and the produce will be better known by other farmers.

He visited the fields of a farmer N Dhananjaya Naidu at M Kongaravari Palle of Chandragiri mandal in which he was practicing ZBNF. He told the Collector that he has collected various types of vegetables available in the country and cultivating with them without using any pesticides under natural farming system. He even distributing the produce to other farmers with which people can avoid various diseases. 

The farmer has procured 50 types of tomatoes, 19 varieties of lady’s finger and radish, 20 types of carrot etc., for cultivation and selling the seeds after the harvest in the name of ‘Modern Agri Technology Service’ at his home itself. These seeds can be used at terrace gardens which is more convenient for people in towns and cities.

The Collector has gone through the entire crops and asked concerned officials to send the seeds from the crop of Dhananjaya Naidu to Agricultural College and ask them to make them in large quantities.

Steps should also be taken to keep the crop such as fruits, vegetables and others that comes out of ZBNF by opening separate stalls at weekly markets and bring awareness among people that such products will have 70 per cent nutritional values.

He even tasted the dishes made out of the crop in natural farming at the farmer’s house. Joint Director of Horticulture Sivakumari, ADA Bala Bhaskar, ATMA PD Dorasanamma and other officials were also present.
