Vijayawada: In what could be described as battle for ownership over some land which claimed to be belonged to a non-government organisation, Ponnam Haribabu, who purchased the same in a deal, demanded police protection from Noel Harper, the person who purportedly sold it.

Haribabu said that he is the owner of seven acres and 80 cents land with a house in it at Narasingapalem village in Agiripalli mandal. He feared threat to his life from Noel Harper of Care and Share Trust.

Addressing media at the press club here on Thursday, he said that the land with a house in it was purchased from Noel Harper in 2017 by way of registration at Nuzvid sub-registrar office paying the full amount.  After the registration was completed, Noel Harper brought some orphan children from Share and Care Trust at Buddhavaram to the site and picked up a quarrel with him demanding vacation of the premises as the land belonged to Share and Care Trust.

Haribabu said that he approached the court and the court after examining all the records and document confirmed that the land and the house inside the land belongs to him. However, Noel Harper was regularly entering his premises and picking a quarrel with him to vacate the land.
