AP Govt committed for minority welfare
Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna said that State Government is committed for the welfare of Muslim Minorities and introduced a number of innovative schemes during the last four years. It is the need of the hour to follow the footsteps of the then Indian Union Education Minister Moulan Abul Kalam Azad, he said.
On the occasion of 131st birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam, Muslim Minority Welfare Mela was organised at Ambedkar Bhavan in city on Sunday. ZP Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash, Chittoor MLA D A Satya Prabha, Mayor K Hemalatha, Joint Collector 2 Chandramouli and others were present.
Addressing the participants of the programme , District Collector said that Rs 74 crore was distributed benefitting 1,633 families under various Muslim Minority Welfare Schemes during the year. ``It is a record that 363 Minority groups are working in the district taking active part in saving thrift amounts .
There is a tremendous response for Dulhan scheme from Muslim Minorities for which the Government has been committed to cover all the eligible couples. Earlier, P S Pradyumna speaking to press persons, announced Mega Assets Distribution Programme in the district to be held in Chittoor , Madanapalli, Tirupati and Kuppam centres. He said instruction were given to the bankers to release the sanction letters for all the beneficiaries of various schemes during the month.
