Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth remembers services of Abul Kalam Azad

Tirupati: To commemorate the 131st birth anniversary of first Union Education Minister, freedom fighter and Bharata Ratna awardee Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (RSVP) organised National Education Day under the aegis of Vidyapeeth Vagwardhini Parishad on Sunday in a grand manner.

Former in-charge Vice-Chancellor of RSVP Prof Sripada Sathyanarayana Murthy attended the event as chief guest who recalled that, in spite of taking birth in Muslims holy place Mecca, Moulana was having great regard for Indian nationalism. He gave a fitting reply to the separatists and left an indelible mark in the freedom struggle. 

As the first Education Minister, he had introduced revolutionary changes in the education sector, he said. Another former V-C and senior faculty of RSVP Prof ML Narasimha Murthy observed that Azad had initiated innumerable changes in the Indian Education System and had restored a systematic and authentic format for future generations to follow without any reservations.

The Registrar of RSVP Dr GSR Krishnamurthy  presided over the meeting and recalled it was the foresight of the great leader which made compulsory education for children below 14 years.   Vidyapeeth’s faculty Prof K Ganapathi Bhat, Prof Raghavan, Dr Radha Govinda Tripati, Dr R Chandrasekhar, Dr Jyothi, Dr PTG Rangaramanujacharyulu, Dr Sitansubhushan Panda, Dr Chandulal, Dr Vijayalakshmi, Dr Ajay Nanda, and student Vaishnavi  submitted their research findings on Azad. The programme was organised by Vaghwardhini Parishad Co-ordinators Dr S Muralidhar Rao and Dr Somnath Das.
