Efforts on to bring back red sanders smugglers from foreign countries
Kadapa: Steps were initiated to bring back notorious red sanders smugglers, who were taking shelter in foreign countries, according to D Nagendra Kumar, DIG of Kurnool Range. Addressing the media here on Thursday, the DIG stated that it is a laborious process to bring back red sanders smugglers to India as the Interpol has to issue Red Notice against them.
He stressed on the need for cops to use highly sophisticated technologies to control crime rate. Round-the-clock patrolling on national highways and conducting surprise checks in the villages have yielded results as culprits were nabbed, he added. Replying to a question, the DIG said police administration is in the process of identifying the faction, sensitive and hyper sensitive villages in the district in view of 2019 elections.
He lauded the district police for bringing down the crime rate. Earlier, the DIG has conducted a review meeting with the officials on various issues related to crimes and instructed them to speed up investigation in the ongoing cases. District SP Abhishek Mohanty and other police officials were present.
