Read ancient manuscripts, students told at Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala director Dr T Vijayalakshmi explained the importance of ancient manuscripts to students.

Addressing the students on the importance of Ancient Manuscripts on the college premises here on Friday, she said that the students could develop their knowledge by ancient manuscripts.

The college principal Dr M Nalini said that the students should read books for improving their knowledge. 

She also said that even though the world is moving with technology, still the libraries were also holding their importance. She said that the students could only get knowledge by reading ancient manuscripts.

Telangana Government Ancient Manuscripts Research Centre assistant director DP Subba Rao explained the importance of ancient literature. 

He also said that the people of ancient days used various procedures for preserving literature. 

He said that the manuscripts like brick plates, stones, clay tablets, metal plates, wooden slates, bricks, animal skin, ivory bamboo, aloe vera, palm leaves, cotton, bones, silk and paper were available in the ancient days.
