Withdraw GO restricting CBI raids, Vundavalli asks govt
Rajamahendravaram: Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar said that the GO issued by State government withdrawing its permission to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for conducting raids in Andhra Pradesh is not valid.
The government's decision in this regard gives wrong signals to the people, he said. Speaking to media persons here on Friday, the former MP suggested Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to roll back the decision, if he is not aware of the GO issued by the State government. What prompted Chief Minister Nara to take the decision, when the state is at its helm of affairs, he questioned.
As per rules, CBI conducts enquiry in any State with the permission only and why the state government again issued the GO, he said. Can Chief Minister stop CBI enquiry on any issue, Arun Kumar asked adding that the court will not accord permission to stop an inquiry on any issue. Chandrababu Naidu is raising unnecessary controversies by issuing this type of GOs, Arun Kumar added.
