Government will purchase paddy in old system: Prattipati Pulla Rao
Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao said that government will purchase paddy from the farmers in the old system and it will solve problems of the farmers and rice millers. He addressed a press conference in Chilakaluripet on Saturday. The minister said that the aim of the government is to keep farmers happy. Government introduced new system to check irregularities of the rice millers. Considering the problems of farmers, the government has revived old system.
He said that there is no condition to the farmers that they should take photograph in the agriculture fields with the paddy stock. Based on the survey number, the personnel at market yards will purchase paddy from the farmers. Replying to a question, he said that the government is planning to purchase 65-lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the farmers and credit the amount to the farmers bank account within 24-hours. He said that the government hiked MSP for paddy by Rs. 200 per quintal comparing to last year.
Pulla Rao further said that they are not registering criminal cases against rice millers those who are supplying recycled rice to the government under the CMR Policy. He further said that they have distributed 2.35-lakh new ration cards during this month and added that the new ration card holder will get rice and other essential commodities from the next month.
