Jagan promises forest land pattas to tribals
Kurupam (Vizianagaram): Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy assured that he would sanction pattas to the tribal farmers in forest lands. On Wednesday, Jagan started his Padayatra in Kurupam mandal and continued through Dasaripeta, Chinamerangi, Talla Dumma, Tumbali and Alluvada of Jiyammavalasa mandal.
He covered Agency villages during the Padayatra. Some Muslims met him and explained that they were not being provided any financial support under Shadi Mubarak scheme and it's totally a failure scheme.
Students of China Merangi stated that their college had no facilities like furniture and toilets and they were not getting any scholarships. Tribal farmers told Jagan that Forest Rights Act was successfully implemented during the YSR regime and later it was dumped by the TDP government.
They said that their forest products were being sold at a lesser price as the government was not extending any support and they did not possess pattas. They alleged that their lands were being grabbed by others. Auto-rickshaw drivers also met Jagan.
