Chinta Mohan meets SVU V-C over grievances of hostel students, staff

Tirupati: Former Congress MP Chinta Mohan has met Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Dr G Janaki Ramaiah over varsity authorities issuing a circular asking hostel students to pay mess bills every month.

Responding to The Hans india report published on Thursday ‘SVU students oppose payment of mess bills in advance,’ Chinta Mohan met V-C and requested him to take suitable action in favour of SC, ST, and OBC students, who have been pursuing their studies as inmates in the SVU hotels with the scholarship amount.

He informed the V-C that hundreds of students, who belong to poor families, cannot pay mess bills without scholarships. The V-C promised the Congress leader that he will take a decision in favour of students after consulting the officials concerned. Similarly, former MP also brought the salary issue of NMR employees to the V-C’s notice.
