Happy people, happy govt

Puttaparthi (Anantapur): Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said the satisfaction levels on the performance of his government among people is 76 per cent and they are improving it further with each passing day. Addressing a meeting of the 'Grama Darshini' programme at Kappalabanda village in Puttaparthi mandal on Friday, the Chief Minister said his government had been working in a systematic manner to meet the essential needs of the common man and solve their personal and community problems. Elaborating on his government's initiatives, Naidu said his government had focused on women as they happen to be the fulcrum of a family. 

"We have been providing financial assistance for marriage of women under 'Chandranna Pasupu Kunkuma' scheme and then taking care of the health of women during pregnancy, by providing nutritious food to mother and child and then taking special care of the child by continuing the same support through Anganwadi's and educating children by providing mid-day meals at schools, providing scholarships to them for plus-2 education and beyond. The TD government has been providing financial assistance to the students up to Rs 15 lakh for overseas education. It is again providing for daughter's marriage and extending insurance coverage to her in the event of the accidental death of the woman and ultimately the government is providing social security in the form of pensions in old age.  

All the government schemes are women-centric and is taking care of the entire family needs. The Chief Minister asked those present if any government in the country is implementing so many schemes with a holistic approach towards the family and particularly women. The government is also adding dignity to its citizens by even performing last rites by supplying Maha Prasthanam vehicle for a touching send-off in the event of the death of any family member. The public satisfaction levels reflect the happiness of the people and their opinion on his government performance. He promised to improve the quality of life further by adopting technology to every gamut of welfare and development. 

He said that due to introducing digitisation, quality of services had improved, and corruption had been effectively checked. AP now ranks as one of the three states in India where corruption is the least. He said that the day is not far off when the average citizen of AP need not step out of his house for availing any government benefit. All one has to do is just to make a call or send a message. An average citizen can question the CM on the status of his application. All this can be done by the introduction of an App. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister was warmly received by the MLAs, district officials and Collector Veera Pandian and SP GVG Ashok Kumar.  After landing at Puttaparthi Airport, the Chief Minister went straight to Prashanthi Nilayam where he participated in the 94th birth anniversary celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba.

Addressing the devotees briefly, Naidu said that even though Baba is no more physically, his spirit hovers over Prashanthi Nilayam and people can feel his presence and still draw comfort from him. He said that Baba has devotees spread over in 120 countries. He said that riches and one's profession cannot give real satisfaction except the Baba. He said that the Sathya Sai organisations are very strong in the country and they are doing immense service to humanity.
