Mahasakthi dance feature gets applause

Vijayawada: As part of promoting art forms like dance, music and drama, Mummaneni Subbarao Sidhartha Kalapeetham arranged a dance feature captioned ‘Mahashakthi’ by the troupe of Swatha Venkatesh of Bangalore at Siddhartha auditorium on Friday evening.

Mahasakthi dance feature was based on Markandeya’s ‘Devi Mahatyam’ and it portrays the importance of Adisakthi. 

Dr Suparna Venkatesh, the director of the dance feature, revived the oldest tradition namely "Poorvaranga" to commence the ballet.  The feature was also represents the traditional costumes and make up.  By using  different dance styles like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam the choreographer had added flavour to the dance feature ‘Mahasakthi’.

Swetha Venkatesh, Krithi Shetty, Archana Punyesh, Nishant Aravindakishan, Megha, Shivani, Ashitha R Kumar, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Vidisha Sirivara, Suchita Venkatesh excelled in their roles.  The connoisseurs appreciated the dedication of dancers in exhibiting perfect mudraa, expressions.

Before commencing the dance ballet, the troupe had presented a classical dance item “Jagadananda Karaka”.  The technical support was rendered by Venatesh, Praveen D Rao, Shakthi Rai and Nishant.
