Sir CRR Fest 2018 begins

Eluru: MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) has said sports will help students grow physically and mentally.

He was chief guest at the inauguration of Sir CRR Fest 2018 at Sir CR Reddy College here on Monday.

The MP played kabaddi with the participants to mark commencement of the fest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports would give energy to work actively. He used to play sports in school days and it was his personal experience that sports would keep one stay happy and healthy.

Special guest and SAAP director P Ravindra said that the state government was striving hard to develop sports. The government was extending crores of rupees to help sportspersons.

 It was encouraging them in employment and education. In order to train rural sports talent, the government had established four training centres across the state, he added.

Sir CRR educational institutions president K Rambabu said that encouraging students in sports, cultural and arts was the motto of the fest.

Secretary NVK Durga Rao informed that 80 teams of students and lecturers from their institutions would be participating in the fest.
