12 women get financial help from ALIET
Vijayawada: The management of Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology (ALIET), Vijayawada organised a unique event for economically marginalised people of Rayapalli village in Machilipatnam mandal here on Friday.
The activity was focused on the all-round development of village. About six villages are being adopted by management. They have been organising programmes like self-employment schemes for women.
In this regard, the management of ALIET has introduced cattle scheme, giving financial help to the women self-help group to the tune of Rs 20,000 each for 12 women.
Around Rs 2.4 lakh was given to the beneficiaries by the director Fr Francis Xavier SJ and assistant directors Fr Chiranjeevi and Fr Anil.
The dropout students were imparted self-employment courses on Home Appliances repair, welding, agriculture machine repair courses, besides providing free food and accommodation.
The programme coordinator VV Prabhakar Rao and extension coordinator A Rajesh had taken an active role in the programme to make it a success.
