Goddess rides on Swarna Ratham
Tirupati: After enthralling the devotees as Ahalya Sapa Vimochana Rama on Kalpavriksha Vahana, the Goddess on Sunday on the sixth day morning of Karthika Brahmotsavams blessed devotees as Gandharva Sapa Vimochana Krishna riding on Sarvabhupala Vahanam at Tiruchanur.
According to this new theme, it portrays the famous episode from Sri Krishna Avatar where little Krishna pushes two huge trees with his tiny hands. Only the sages understood the mystery of the two fallen trees as they realised that the two trees are nothing but two young Gandharvas who had been rude to Sage Narada were cursed by him to be born as two trees and spend a 100 years as silent witnesses to human follies.
They could only be freed from the curse by Lord Krishna. Sarva Bhupala Vahanam implies that the Lord is the supreme commander of the entire universe and the same was portrayed by Goddess Padmavathi Devi.
The Goddess was taken out in a procession on Swarna Ratham on the sixth day evening. The processional deity of Goddess Padmavathi gave darshan to scores of devotees in a grand style as the golden chariot marched ahead along the streets.
The devotees got the opportunity of having a glimpse of Goddess Padmavathi who is draped in golden yellow silk saree and adorned with precious jewels. The women devotees turned out in large numbers to pull the chariot chanting divine Namas of the Goddess with devotion.
