Kandaleru LI completed with 62 cr: Somireddy

Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that Rs 62 crore has been spent for completing Kandaleru Left Canal Lift Irrigation Scheme. 

He attended a programme in Degapudi in Podalakur mandal on Saturday and mentioned Rs 45 lakh was spent for siphon on Somasila Left Canal for giving water to Podalakur mandal. 

Now, pending works are being completed with Rs 10 crore, he said, and added they were constructing a mega mineral water plant at Chittepalli for the mandal with Rs 4.6 crore that provides drinking water for 30 surrounding villages.

Further, the Minister said that the state government had increased NTR medical assistance limit from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh and assistance from CM Relief Fund has been extended to patients, who were being treated across the country. 

Somireddy also said that tanks are being renovated with funds supported by the JICA and World Bank. 

He further said they had allocated Rs 80 lakh for Degapudi Lift Irrigation Canal which was constructed around 50 years ago. 

Now, first phase works are being taken up shortly with Rs 39 lakh. Local leaders were present.
