National meet on diabetes today

Vijayawada: Yalamanchi Diabetic Research Foundation is organising national conference on diabetes on Sunday, said noted diabetologist Dr Yalamanchi Sadasiva Rao.

Addressing newsmen here on Friday, he said that more than 500 doctors including cardiologists and nephrologists from all over the country would participate in the one-day Diabetocon-2018.

Noted diabetologist Dr V Mohan of Chennai and noted endocrinologist Dr Shashank Joshi would be honoured with gold medals for their contribution to the medial field, the specialist said.

Dr Sadasiva Rao said 20 specialists from various fields would address the physicians and Dr Shashank Joshi and Dr V Mohan would speak on the latest trends in diabetes treatment.

The diabetologist said that he would speak on ‘immunization in diabetes’. 

He said the conference would help the doctors to update their knowledge on treatment of diabetes. 

Referring to immunisation programme, he said that diabetics should get vaccinated to prevent attacks of flu and pneumonia which may be fatal.
