Santa Claus distributes greeting cards, gifts
Narsapur: In view of the Christmas festivities, Santa Claus went around the city with greetings and gifts. While launching the programme at her office, Pasupuleti Ratnamala, Chairperson of the Municipal Corporation said, “Today we are organising this programme to educate people and school children to maintain good sanitation practices which keeps them healthy. Washing hands with soap is very important. Today, Santa Claus is distributing greeting cards with good messages on sanitation and soaps to people as Christmas gifts. We want the city to be totally open defecation free.
We are thankful to ASCI and Swachh Andhra Corporation for supporting us in transforming the city on sanitation.” Santa Claus visited 1000 households in Lockpet, Ponnapalli settlements, Rytu Bazar and government schools at Tailorpet and distributed greeting cards with message of sanitation and soaps. At the Lockpet Municipal Primary School, he explained to children of primary classes on good sanitation practices especially on handwash. R Harish, 7th Class student demonstrated the steps to wash hands along with Santa.
He said, “I will educate my friends in school. I thank Santa for this lovely greeting card and soap.” Hari Krishna, Headmaster of Municipal Primary Schools said he was regularly teaching children on hand wash. The event was jointly organised by The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), SampoornaSwachaSankalpa and Municipal Corporation of Narsapur.
