Navyandhra Natakostavalu fest concludes in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The three-day Navyandhra Natakostavalu drama festival concluded at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Friday. 

The fest was organised by Karuna Health and Cultural Foundation Trust and the Andhra Pradesh State Film and Television Development Corporation.

As many as five playlets on various social issues were performed. They were shortlisted from about 150 entries from across the state.

Dara Karunasri, organising committee member said that about 15 dramas which won Nandi award were shortlisted and five were selected for the three-day fest which attracted a good number of crowd. 

She said this was the first of its kind drama fest after the state bifurcation.

She said that Andhra Nalanda Municipal Higher Second School, Gudivada performed ‘Sree Rama Raksha’, Janasreni, Vijayawada portrayed ‘Gurthu Teliyani Savam,’ a social-theme based playlet. 

Young Theatre Organisation of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala performed  ‘Uru Bhangam,’ a social drama. 

‘Raakthapasam’ was staged by JMK  Natyamandali from Vijayawada. Aravind Arts Creation of Tadepalli’s ‘Intinti Bhagavatham’ was performed on the concluding day, said Karuna Sri.

She further said that more of such events will be organised in the days to come.

City mayor Koneru Sridhar, Deputy Mayor Gogula Ramana, Lions Club Chairman M Upendra, Glocal Technology Solutions CEO Tarun Kakani,  Andhra Arts Academy secretary Golla Narayana Rao, and Siva Nagi Reddy, CEO, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) attended for the fest.
