Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna has said that the government issued GO No.14 on January 4th relating to Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS). The scheme will be executed in municipalities, municipal corporations and panchayats which fall under the purview of GUDA.

Disclosing the details of the GO at a press conference held at GUDA zonal office here on Saturday, Ganni Krishna said the structures which were constructed without permission between January 1st 1985 to 31st August 2018 are eligible for regularization  under BRS.

The respective building owners should apply to regularise their construction through online before April 6th, 2019 by paying an amount of Rs 10,000 in the name of GUDA.

Criminal cases will be registered against illegal constructions and they will be seized if they fail to apply for BRS, he said.

GUDA vice-chairman Amarendra said they are expecting an income of Rs 50 crore through  BRS. Unauthorised layouts will also be regularised under this scheme and the applicants have to pay 14 per cent open space charges for regularisation.
