Students initiate Sankranti celebrations

Vijayawada: As part of the Sankanti celebrations, various programmes were organised which delighted the audience at Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala here on Tuesday.

The students of commerce department and NSS division of the college organised various programmes like Rangoli competition, flowers decoration, Basavanna (Gangireddu), Camp Fire and participated in the programmes which created the festive ambience at the college.

The college principal, M Nalini distributed prizes to the winners of Sankranti Lakshmi, Bommalakoluvu, Rangoli competitions and later explained the importance of Dhanurmasamu. She explained how young girls used to observe the Vratam on the occasion.

The programme was held under the supervision of college director Dr T Vijayalakshmi, commerce department head Dr T Ramadevi, NSS programme officer and others.
