Centre, State govts ignoring workers: Trade union leaders

Srikakulam: Both BJP and TDP governments have been implementing anti-poor and anti-workers policies, charged leaders of various trade and employees unions. As part of all India agitation, on the second day, they staged protest in front of Collectorate at Srikakulam on Wednesday.

On the occasion, CITU State vice-president Duppala Govinda Rao and district president  K Srinivas have said that both Central and State governments are against workers and employees and are supporting corporate companies.

The governments are not implementing labour laws properly and ignoring welfare of the poor and weakers, they stated. They took out rally and staged agitation with workers of several industries in the district. Mid-day meal workers, anganwadi workers and others participated in the stir.  

APNGOs district president H Sai Ram  charged that governments are intentionally neglecting minimum wages Acts in all government and private sectors and it has been badly affecting the workers.
