Coop society staff stage protest
Vijayawada: Hundreds of employees working in Cooperative Societies and representing Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Societies Employees Association from all 13 districts staged a protest at Dharna Chowk here on Thursday, demanding an immediate solution to their problems and modifications to the recommendations of the expert committee.
Speaking at the meeting, association general secretary P Satyanarayana said that it was unfortunate that the concerned minister was not inviting unions for talks despite the agitation going on from December 17. “The silence of bureaucracy and the ministry is baffling,” he added.
He said as per the present living standards, the wages of the cooperative societies’ employees should be increased by 50 percent and an HR policy to this effect should be released. He said as per GO 151 issued in March 2104, the wage revision should take place.
