KU wins 4th place in ball badminton tourney

Vijayawada: Krishna University stands in the fourth place among the 84 teams participated from across the country in the National Women Inter-University Ball Badminton Tournament organised by Krishna University (KRU) held SDM Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala here.

The prizes were distributed to the winning teams by MP K Narayana Rao, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha and others.

Mangalore University team secured first place and won the title followed by University of Calicut team with 35-21 and 35-19 scores. The third place was secured by SRM IST University, Chennai team over Krishna University team.

According to the organising secretary Dr Srinivas Rao, the Krishna University won all the matches played in the league tournament and finally lost the league match 2 to University of Calicut with 13-35 and 14 -35 score and also lost court number 2 to SRM IST University Chennai with 18-35 and 21-35 scores.

In this national tournament, as many as 84 universities took part from 18 States and about 850 players participated in this tournament.

Krishna University vice-chancellor Prof Sunkara Rama Krishna Rao, registrar P King, principal Dr M Nalini, director  Dr T Vijaya Lakshmi, treasurer Dr R Raghu Ram and others congratulated Krishna University team and other winning teams.
