Celebrate festivals to protect culture: Ganni

 Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna has said festivals are part and parcel of our tradition and culture. Everyone should celebrate the festivals and inform their children about the importance of festivals.

Kindling Bhogimanta at Ganugaveedhi here on Monday, he said at present the young generation was not aware of our festivals and it was very important to protect our tradition and culture by celebrating each festival.

There is a good reason behind every festival and three day Sankranthi is an example for happiness as at this time the paddy yield comes to farmers and the system changes to Uttarayanam from Dakshinayanam, he said.
