Srikakulam: A special officer need to be appointed to clear the Titli cyclone reliefs in Palasa Assembly segment, stated TDP MLA GSS Sivaji. In a press conference held along with TDP district president G Sirisha here on Monday, Sivaji said that due to mistakes in online enrollment of cyclone victims before November 17, the compensation amount was not credited into their accounts.

So many farmers names were not enrolled so far in the list and name of crop damage was also registered as cashew instead of coconut, he said and added as a result, farmers received less amount. Some names of farmers were appeared in the list initially and later they were removed, the MLA said and demanded to pay compensation to all farmers who lost their crop in more than five acres of land.

As per lists finalised by the officials, many ineligible candidates have received compensation and MLA demanded action against both officials and beneficiaries and asked the officials to recover the amount.

He also explained that in Vajrapukotturu mandal the payment was made for loss of fishing boat as Rs 10,000 per one boat and in Santhabommali mandal, the payment was made to fishermen separately as Rs 10,000. “This kind of disparity should be rectified,” the MLA said.
