I will take responsibility for well-being of BCs: Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that he would take responsibility of protecting the interests of Backward Classes (BCs), who are a strong base for TDP.
Addressing the BC leaders who attended the proposed Jayaho BC Sadassu preparatory meeting at Undavalli on Thursday, the TDP national president said that a BC residential schools would be set up in all constituencies.
He said technology would be added to the hereditary professions to get global marketing for their produce. Reiterating that the state government was committed to the upliftment of weaker sections, he suggested that all the 139 BC castes should unite for political and economic growth.
The TDP president promised that the state government would provide reservations to BCs in MSME parks to encourage them to become entrepreneurs. He said if necessary federations and corporations would be set up for BC sections. Stating that BCs were the backbone of TDP, Naidu said the party is committed to the welfare of BCs since its inception.
He said that the state govt spent Rs 40,000 crore towards BC welfare. Naidu said leaders of 30 BC associations attended the meeting and submitted their representations. The state government would discuss their just demands and take a decision during Jayaho BC Sadassu scheduled to be held at Rajahmundry on January 27.
