Drusyam-Nrityam enthralls audience in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A programme designed with a caption ‘Drusyam – Nrityam’ was presented at Velidandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam Hall here on Saturday.
With the aim to encourage the cultural activities among the youth and professionals, two years ago ‘Drusya Vedika’ was started. This audience club arranged many innovative programmes for the dance, music and drama lovers. The latest was ‘Drusyam – Nrityam’.
On this occasion, Hemanth Kumar choreographed for the lyrics of Varanasi Venkatrao and presented with the students of ‘Bharatiya Bharathi’. Four beautiful and meaningful dance items were presented to the connoisseurs of Drusya Vedika.
The programme commenced traditionally with Ranga puja and followed by light lyrics of Venkat Rao “Amme Adiguruvaite” which showcased the importance of mother during childhood for taking the right path.
The second item “Papalo Paramatma” was presented by Padmasree and Neelaveni. The artistes excellently presented the essence of the song through their expressions.
‘Nrutya Sundari’, a dance item depicts the dance artiste’s feelings. Outstanding performance was given by Lekhya Bharani for this item.
The last item of Varanasi Venkat Rao was a folk piece “Ammo Durgamma” performed by Sameera, Teja, Sanjana, Chinmayi, Malika, Priyanka, Manasa, Lakshmi Pranathi, Rekha, Navyalathika, Karthikeya, Jahnavi, Sreeyutha, Aumika, Sai and Krishnaveni.
The lyric writer Varanasi Venkatrao was felicitated by B Sambi Reddy, P Suryanarayana Murthy and Dr D Kailasa Rao and appreciated the performance of the artistes.
They expect many more innovative programmes from Drusya Vedika. HVRS Prasad, founder of Drusya vedika organized the programme along with members Hemanth and Satyanarayana Raju.
