Dreams of poor to own a house come true: TG Venkatesh
Kurnool: Rajya Sabha Member, TG Venkatesh has reiterated that Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu has fulfilled the dream of common man to have a house of his own.
He participated as a chief guest at the inaugural function of G+3 community houses constructed by TIDCO on the outskirts of Kurnool city on Saturday.
Addressing a meeting at the premises, TG Venkatesh said that following the orders of Chief Minister, the TIDCo has constructed houses by using latest technology.
After completing the houses on all aspects house warming is being done by the beneficiaries.
Housewarming is being done on a large scale across the State. the houses constructed at NTR Nagar are free from flood and other disasters and the people can live happily, he said.
Recalling his tenure as Kurnool MLA, Venkatesh said he has protected the places from encroaching.
He said that he has constructed houses at TV 9 colony with low coast to the people dwelling on the river bank and KC canal for those who have lost their properties during floods.
Now the cost of the houses has abnormally gone up to Rs.5 lakhs. Now we are planning to construct a solar plant at this area so that power could be supplied free of cost.
He advised the officials of the concerned to speed up the works of Electrical Sub Station works that are being taken up with a cost of Rs.15 crores.
District Collector, S Sathyanaryana said around 1.16 lakhs house have been sanctioned across the district under Pradhana Mantri Avas Yojana-NTR housing scheme.
On the directions of Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, housewarming programme to 28,860 houses in rural and 23,670 houses in urban area is being done like a festival on Saturday.
Houses were completed by the TIDCO with a cost of Rs.1,200 crores. We have sanctioned Rs.13 crores for providing water facility and by the end of March we will provide all facilities including water, electicity, school, internal roads besides other facilities, the Collector said.
Member of Parliament, Butta Renuka, MLAs of Kodmuru and Kurnool, Mani Gandhi, SV Mohan Reddy, ex-MLA, Erasu Pratap Reddy, KUDA Chairman, Somishetty Venkateshwarulu, Commissioner of Kurnool Municipal Corporation Prasanthi and others were present.
