Awareness meet on use of EVMs held in kakinada
Kakinada: Mass awareness programme has been taken up in East Godavari for first time voters to exercise their franchise. This is in addition to give idea on EVMs and VV PATs to all the 40 lakh voters in the district, said District Collector Kartikeya Mishra.
Speaking to media persons at the Collectorate here on Saturday, Mishra made it clear that the EVMs are tamper proof and there is no need for any apprehensions about their working. Briefing the arrangements for next elections, the Collector said that 410 EVMs and VVPATs were allotted for creation of awareness among the voters.
The collector said special mobile teams were constituted in the district to create awareness to voters and this would continue even after notification for conduct of elections.
Mishra said that 12 RDOs and 54 Tahsildars allotted to the district on transfer and they have been assigned responsibilities as ROs and AROs. He appealed the public to use the toll free number 1950 from any mobile.
