AP State Water Resources Dept bags award for water conservation
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in Jalasiriki Harathi at five various places in the State on a single day. He is scheduled to participate at Palamaneru, Kuppam, Madanapalle, Thamballapalli and Punganur.
During a review meeting on progress of Polavaram Project on Monday at the Secretariat, Chandrababu Naidu announced that he will participate in Jalasiriki Harati and said that government will bring water to Chittoor district by March 15 at any cost. He said that the construction of Polavaram Project has been completed up to 66 per cent.
The Chief Minister pointed out that four other projects were ready for inauguration and they would be dedicated to the people later this month.
They include Pulichintala, Gundlakamma, Madakasira branch canal and Adavipalli reservoir and lift irrigation scheme.
The projects including Vamsadhara second phase, Vamsadhara–Nagavali interlinking, Sujala Sravanti phase-1 are under progress and nearing the completion stage.
Water Resources Department officials informed that they will release water to Punganur pond on Tuesday. At this juncture, Chandrababu Naidu directed them to release water to the Kuppam branch canal and Palamaneru small pond also on Tuesday.
The Water Resources department has achieved another award in water conservation. Chandrababu Naidu appreciated officials for achieving Global Platinum Award.
